Considered one of the last great divas of Latin America and a national treasure in Peru, Susana Baca has been carrying the torch of Afro-Peruvian music for over 50 years. A three-time Latin Grammy Award winner, the singer, songwriter and composer has also been a teacher, an ethnomusicologist and even Minister of Culture! At the tender age of 78, the woman who was one of the key figures in the revival of a form of folklore that combines centuries of slavery with colonisation will do us the honour of stepping on the Ella Fitzgerald Stage to take us on a gentle, heart-rending journey through saudade, driven by her delicate and soulful voice.
