Louis Matute Large Ensemble

Euphoric and bittersweet, Louis Matute’s music is truly unique. Divided between the Europe of his birth and the Latin America of his dreams, the gen-Z child—too uncompromising for the fiction of reality and too sincere for the fiction of himself—reopens the doors of his universe with Small Variations from the Previous Day (2024). It’s a room with a view, where auriverde, red, blue, and white guitars keep passing friends company. The smell of coffee, travel photos, a reflection in the mirror, little rivers, and big questions. All this (life!), Matute has it under his fingertips. Steeped in pop and saudade, his melodies head straight for the heart, leaving a touch of magic in the air.
