Joel Ross "Parables"

Over the last few years, rising star on the New York jazz scene Joel Ross has established himself as a talented and visionary artist of his generation. The vibraphonist/composer, who regularly tops the DownBeat Critics Poll, became one of the youngest artists to obtain a residency at the prestigious Jazz Gallery in 2017. After two albums on the legendary Blue Note label, he released his new work The Parable of the Poet in 2022, a composed suite reflecting his explicit yet mysterious musicality. Ross’s collaborative spirit is embodied in the charting of new territories with his all-star Parables octet, which includes Geneva-based Maria Grand on tenor saxophone.
