It was in their hometown of Tamanrasset, in the Hoggar mountain range of southern Algeria, that the members of Imarhan built their recording studio following the release of their sophomore album Temet in 2018. The quintet, led by singer Lyad Moussa ben Abderrahmane, captures all the diversity, beauty, and hardships of life in the Tuareg capital and will present their latest work, the album Aboogi, named after the first semi-permanent structures, which their nomadic ancestors built when settlements and villages were established. This new nugget of contemporary, hybrid desert blues blends poetic, militant lyrics with a mesmerising fusion of folk, rock, and groovy beats for a stunningly colourful musical journey.
