Cedric Burnside

The blues is a music for all times, and multi-instrumentalist, singer, and songwriter Cedric Burnside is widely regarded as a great proponent of its timeless prescience. Born in Memphis in 1978 and raised in North Mississippi, he absorbed the heritage of hill country blues, playing with his grandfather from an early age and becoming a bluesman in his own right. His nine solo and collaborative albums, including I Be Trying (2021, Best Traditional Blues Album at the Grammy Awards), bear witness to his deep understanding of this tradition and his commitment to keeping it alive for future generations.
