Ajate

Ajate, a Japanese band founded in 2011 by John Imaeda, dishes out a bold blend of afro-groove, funk, and Ohayashi traditional Japanese music. The ten-strong ensemble has developed a unique sound that includes handmade bamboo instruments, such as the “Jahte” and “Piechiku”, which were designed and named by Imaeda himself.
